Seneca Valley In-Line Hockey Mentor Programby Chris Hoch
We are pleased to introduce the "Seneca Valley In-Line Hockey Mentor Program" for the 2009-2010 season. The program is a seven hour voluntary program for our Varsity and Junior Varsity players. This gives the Mentor the opportunity to elevate their inline hockey experience by working with the Elementary players.
Each Varsity and Junior Varsity player who volunteers for the Mentor Program will be assigned to one of our Elementary teams for one season. Elementary teams have two seasons, the first ending just before Christmas and the second ending in March. Each Mentor will be required to complete a total of seven hours to an assigned Elementary Team by:
- Assisting the assigned elementary head coach in three separate, 1 ½ hour practices.
- With the direction of the assigned head coach, lead one, 1 ½ hour practice.
- Attend one of the assigned team's games.
Each mentor will certainly enjoy the benefits of this program!
- Earn seven volunteer hours to apply toward that critical High School resume!
- Share your knowledge of the sport with our future Varsity and Junior Varsity players.
- Learn to coach with first-hand participation.
- Learn to referee games, by refereeing the scrimmages at the end of practices.
- Most importantly:
Pass on your passion for In-Line Hockey to the Future of our Association.
If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, please contact Mr. Chris Hoch at choch@zoominternet.net or (724) 816-4346.
