Here are the rules for submitting a motto to be considered:
- Must be a member of the 2011 Senior Class to enter
- Must be a registered player of SVILHA
- Only one submission per Senior player
- Must be your original idea
To submit your entry, please provide the following information in an email to choch@zoominternet.net:Name, contact information (phone number and email address), and your motto or catch phrase
Please submit your entry to me no later than July 1st.

Inline for the Cure: Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Posted May 19
In our continued efforts to teach our players that there is more to this sport than just playing and winning, that there are situations in life much larger than a practice or a game, and that no matter how small our effort towards the teams' goal, we can have an impact, the Seneca Valley Inline Hockey Association would like to invite all of its members to participate in our first ever, "Inline for a Cure". We would like to adopt a cause each season that has had an impact on a member of our association. We hope that our players learn that their health and abilities are not to be taken for granted and that there are others that are not so fortunate.
We are proud to announce that this season's focus will be the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, liver, skin and lungs.
Currently, there is no cure.
What is so distinct about TSC is that it affects some people severely and others so mildly that it often goes undiagnosed. Some people with TSC, for example, are sentenced to a lifetime of seizures, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Other people with TSC, meanwhile, are able to live healthy, totally independent lives. It is this not knowing when, how and to what extent the disease will manifest, that is so onerous for so many.
Nearly one million people worldwide are known to have TSC, with approximately 50,000 in the United States. At least two children born each day in the United States will have tuberous sclerosis complex. While many cases go undiagnosed due to the obscurity of the disease and the mild form the symptoms may take in some people, TSC is more common than ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) or cystic fibrosis.
WE'RE FIGHTING FOR THE CURE THAT COULD LEAD TO MORE CURES.
TSC is a lynchpin disease.
Insights into TSC can provide insights into other diseases and vice versa. Discoveries in TSC can lead to discoveries in other diseases and vice versa. New treatments in TSC can lead to new treatments in other diseases and vice versa.
Bottom line? Every minute and every dollar spent finding treatments and cures for TSC could bring about quantum leaps forward in treatments and cures for autism, epilepsy and cancer.
This cause was chosen for Brad Lewis. Brad is a sixth grader at Seneca Valley and has been a true fan of the SVILHA for many years. Watching his brother Kyle play for the last five years and his father Greg coaching, Brad has been one of our leading fans. Unfortunately, Brad has had to miss games because of TSC. Just before Christmas last season, Brad endured multiple brain operations to relieve pressure on the brain and it was a "great day for hockey" when he made his way back to the stands to watch his brother play again!
We would like to invite the entire SV Inline Hockey Family to participate in this cause. This year there is a Walk-a-thon (details below) and we would like to gather as many SV Inline players as possible to participate in it. All interested players and their families that can participate in the walk should register at www.firstgiving.com/bradlewis. Hopefully, there will be a sea of SV Inline Jersey's marching with Brad and his Family. Also, you can sponsor Brad at the site. He has set a pretty lofty goal! Brad is trying to reach the $5,000.00 mark and with the support of the SV Inline membership, we are sure he will make it!
Remember, just like a hockey game, every player's effort helps the team reach its goal!
This year, let's make Brad the Champion!
Tuberous Sclerosis Walk-a-thon: The 2010 Tuberous Sclerosis Walk-a-thon will be on Saturday, June 26th at Brady's Run Park, Beaver Falls. It will be a two mile walk.
526 Bradys Run Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010
1:00 P.M. - registration begins
2:00 P.M. - walk begins
